When driving to work today, I noticed billboards on Pottery Barn Kids and after some googling, have noticed that it is now open!! I saw the website and must say that it is really cool…must visit to pick up something.

I looooove the above bed! so cool sleeping in one. I saw the boards covering the possible store site at the avenues last week, so glad now I can visit the place.

Graduation day! – 27 May 2010

So it’s over! Graduation day that is!

My son graduated from Reception and will be in year 1 in September….time flies so fast. Feels like just yesterday, I dropped him off for his first day at kinder garden and now he is almost in year 1 🙂

Over the past 2 years he has certainly changed sooo much…most importantly, he has become more independent..Which is good. Shows his confidence has improved. He can read very well now. Every time we go out, especially to a restaurant, he tries to read everything around him from the menu to the bill….perhaps he will soon pick up the tab too!

So good bye small boy…welcome big boy!

Back to School

Hi All! Have’nt posted much lately….been a little preoccupied with my son who will be going back to school after a realllly looooong 2 week break!

For that past 2 weeks, I have been handling him from work and also once I am home. Every day I had to find something different for him to do. I took him to a colleague’s house to spend one afternoon, then couple of times to run around in the airport ( as my dad was travelling), prepared Easter eggs, then numerous trips down the apartment building to play with the other kids……One day I even took the day off to take him, my dad and the maid off for breakfast and then to my sister’s house to play.

I must say I kinda enjoyed it all 🙂 I mean even though he is a handful and conversing becomes more exhausting due to so many questions and explanations, I enjoyed every minute of it 🙂 I guess when he is older, he wouldn’t want to spend time with me, so I’ll enjoy it now.

During one of our playtime sessions down the apartment building, I even got to know the girl who I think is now officially his first crush!!!! So sweeeettt! I wish all of you could have seen them together, how my son smiles when she is around and how he wants to play with her.. She also takes a lot of effort to focus on him, play the games he wants to play and basically showers him with attention! I think this is why he likes her! Took lots of photos that day of all them and then both of them………memories. I wonder how my son would feel if I showed him these photos when he is much older!!

Tomorrow, we are back to the same routine, yelling to properly brush those teeth and dressed for school……………to eat a wholesome breakfast after that……..trying to get him to finish drinking milk while I am in my room trying to be presentably dressed for work. Need all the luck I can get for all this and then beat traffic getting to work…

At the same time, LUCK to all the other moms who from tomorrow will be in the same boat as me…I also hope you had some great moments with your kids these holidays…got to see a different side of them..

Enjoy!

Note: need to make sure we have enough bread, sandwich making ingredients and juice for school lunch’s. No more late nights…early bed time starts today

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland – too much for a 5-year old??

Has anyone gone to see Alice in Wonderland since its release? Anyone with a 4 or 5 or 6 year old?

Well, this past Saturday, I went to the 4:30 show at Al Fanar to see it and it was a disater 😦

My son was so spooked out by the whole thing, we barely sat for about 40 min and when I looked at him, I really thought he would start crying in the absolutely packed theater!!

I think he found the whole darkness of the movie really scary along with the Red Queen’s big head. Even Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, was too much for him……….. I probably will have to wait till he is a little older to see it again.

What did you all think of the movie?….fill me in
