Would your child stand up to bullies?

Today,I read a topic that really made me to stop and think[here]. It’s an article that appeared in the Todaymom’s link on MSNBC about how would your child react when seeing another child being bullied.

It got me thinking about bullies in general. I have a son in year 1, who is frankly quite timid. While he is an extremely sweet little boy who truly and genuinely cares for another person and would not himself participate in bullying, I really do not know how he would react if someone bullies him or if he is in a situation where someone near him is being bullied.

Any insight from other moms in Kuwait on how serious is bullying is here in Kuwait schools? More specifically british schools in Kuwait?

appreciate if a teacher would also provide some input on their school’s policy on bullying.

Thanks

Graduation day! – 27 May 2010

So it’s over! Graduation day that is!

My son graduated from Reception and will be in year 1 in September….time flies so fast. Feels like just yesterday, I dropped him off for his first day at kinder garden and now he is almost in year 1 🙂

Over the past 2 years he has certainly changed sooo much…most importantly, he has become more independent..Which is good. Shows his confidence has improved. He can read very well now. Every time we go out, especially to a restaurant, he tries to read everything around him from the menu to the bill….perhaps he will soon pick up the tab too!

So good bye small boy…welcome big boy!

Happy Birthday Overdose!!!

We just got through 3 B’day celebrations for my son……an overdose for sure……but my son absolutely enjoyed!!!

This year the cartoon character of the moment was Ben 10……so that’s 3 different cakes with Ben 10 on them. On 11th he had a small party at school, then in the evening, he had one at a another gathering and one later at home with immediate family.

Today was with the whole jing-bang lot – family, friends and colleagues at Pizza Hut, Salmiya. Actually the package was quite reasonable.

We opted for the KWD 70 package which basically covers everything, as follows:

  • 2 hour celebration
  • nice big cake, enough for about 30 people
  • 15 kids with kid’s meal
  • 4-5 games, with prizes
  • goody bag toy at the end for each kid
  • 4 large pizzas for 10 adults
  • Face painting
  • Video coverage for 2 hours on an SD card, which they will give it to you at the end of the party
  • pretty decent decoration on the premises, with balloons,  Happy Birthday board.

As we had more people, we just ordered more family meals and everything was sooooooooooo great. We just had to show up and all was taken care of….now that’s what I call enjoyment!!

Well, 5th Birthday…taken care off…Thank God we have 1 whole year to rest!! Gosh I am so tired!!
